News & Updates
Welcoming UB2, Inc. as our new fiscal sponsors in 2017! Also stay tuned for a sneak preview of season two, coming in February!
We're back! We've been writing season two-- which-- spoiler alert-- will feature twice as much content as originally anticipated! We've got BIG news coming for the show but we can't talk about it here.... At least not yet! Stay tuned!
It was ironic to convene our first writer's room on June the 12th this year. We found strength in one another, and courage to keep working on our little corner of LGBT activism with the show-- a lot of creativity in the room, despite the difficult day. Our thoughts and prayers are now (and always) with the victims of this tragic event, as well as their families and friends. #WEAREALLYOURCHILDREN
HUGE Thanks to Fenway Health for hosting a screening & talkback of the show on the 20th! Big shout outs to the co-sponsors of this event: AIDS Action MA, UB2 Inc., Fenway Health and Catering by Jules!
We'll be in LA for the first ever OUT WebFest on May 7th. Come meet Amy DePaola, Christian Kiley and Ken Breese after the screening! And if you're one of our Boston fans, mark May 20th in your calendar-- we'll be hosting a free screening of season one, followed by a Q&A and some exciting announcements about season two!
Come see screenings of U/P at this year's Wicked Queer Boston LGBT Fest on April 9th, and the Boston International Film Fest on April 17th!
Also check out Mark S. King's excellent review and interview with Christian at www.myfabulousdisease.com!
The Hollywood Caucus for Writers, Directors and Producers, has selected U/P as a grant recipient and invited us to Los Angeles for their annual Awards Dinner on the 8th! Creator Christian Kiley and cast member Ken Breese will attend the ceremony and represent!
Big News! The first season of the show will be released, in five webisodes, right here at unsurepositive.com on December 1st, 2015, in honor of #WorldAidsDay!
iTVFest was gracious enough to have us over in Dover, VT to participate in their "network notes" program. Good times had by all! To learn more visit www.itvfest.org.
Finally! The show is wrapping post-production and we're looking into screening venues and online distribution methods. A big thanks to all of our patient supporters! The premiere screening will be at 6pm on May 9th at Emerson College. Check out our facebook page for more details-- we hope to see you there!
Good news! We have a rough cut! And a slick new TRAILER! Updates have gone out to our supporters and we plan to complete post production the hour-long pilot episode in SPRING 2015. Stay tuned for updates!
Editing the rough cut is well underway and we're having conversations with composers, colorists, and the like... exciting! We've also lucked out and scored the rights to two tracks by the very popular and talented Matt Nathanson! Check out Matt's stuff here!
Series creator Christian Kiley recently wrote an Op-Ed for POZ magazine about HIV in the media landscape. He also discusses his personal experience living with HIV-- read it here.
